San Marcos girls lacrosse started its season with a bang, taking down Agoura High by a score of 17-4 on Tuesday at Warkentin Stadium.

Nine different Royals found the back of the net as all 22 players who dressed for the game earned playing time.

“We played a nice composed style today and after the first few jitters were gone our athletic ability and stick skills really showed,” San Marcos head coach Paul Ramsey said.

The Royals dominated both ends of the field throughout the entire game, holding Agoura to just one goal in each of the four quarters while the offense provided a steady stream of production.

San Marcos’ Gigi Mills led all scorers with five goals while Sadi Adams netted four of her own.

Defensively, Carly Grant played a strong game at goalie with six saves and a 60% save percentage.

“Carly had a great game in goal and really anchored our defense and we’re really proud of her for stepping up today,” Ramsey said.

The Royals (1-0) will be on the road for another non-league matchup on Thursday against Oaks Christian.
