The San Marcos girls water polo team won two more games at the prestigious Newport Elite Eight tournament Friday, beating Oaks Christian 18-8 and Newport Harbor 11-5.
In the first game, 10 different Royals got on the scoreboard, including hat tricks by Charlotte Raisin and Ava Stryker, plus a full-court scoring shot by goalie Lauren Schweitzer.
In addition to her goal, Schweitzer had 10 blocks and an assist.
Aiding the stingy Royals defense efforts to keep Oaks Christian at bay were five steals by Makenna Stretz and three each from Lucy Haaland-Ford and Bethany King.
In the game against Newport Harbor, Raisin led the offense with four goals, while Stryker, Sophia Panossian, and Kate Meyer added two each. Reagan McEachen earned four ejections at two meters.
The defense again shined with a total of 10 steals, including four from Stretz and two each from Stryker and Haaland-Ford. Schweitzer added five more blocks to her day’s total.
“It was a great day,” Royals coach Chuckie Roth said. “Everyone made impacts. The girls are playing hard and supporting each other well.”
On Saturday, San Marcos faces Foothill at 10:10 a.m. at Newport Harbor.
