San Marcos recorded two shutout wins and lost a game by a touchdown Saturday in its 101 Flag Football Tournament at Warkentin Stadium.
The Royals beat Pacifica, 21-0, lost to Chaminade, 7-0, and finished the day with a 32-0 victory against West Ranch.
San Marcos, Pacifica and Chaminade each finished with 2-1 records in the four-team event.
In their opener, Victoria Aldana ran for two touchdowns and passed to Jaylee Perez for score. Aldana completed 22 of 32 passes and threw one interception. Piper Kittle converted two extra points and Drea Obispo added one.
On defense, Marilyn Monroe put constant pressure on the quarterback and picked off a pass, Aldana had an interception and Kittle led the team in flag pulls.
Against Chaminade, the game was scoreless until the last three seconds, when the visitors found the end zone and converted the extra point.
San Marcos threatened throughout the game but couldn’t convert on several fourth downs, said coach Walter Bazylewicz.
Scarlett Holian and Aldana each had an interception in the game.
The Royals’ defense picked off five passes and Aldana fired three touchdown passes in the win over West Ranch.
Bella Bazylewicz caught scoring passes of 42 and 19 yards and Kittle hauled in a 9-yard TD. Milana Lynn added touchdown runs of 13 and 9 yards in the fourth quarter. Extra points were scored by Gianna Herman and Kittle.
The five interceptions were recorded by Cami Weis, Lynn, Mya Llwellyn, Aldana and Sutera Raring.
In other tournament games, Pacifica beat West Ranch (19-6) and Chaminade (6-0) and Chaminade blanked West Ranch (20-0).
San Marcos (3-2) is back at home Tuesday against Santa Ynez at 6 p.m.
