San Marcos exploded for 23 hits, eight for extra bases, in a 15-5 Channel League win over Pacifica on the road Friday.
Darren Orlando led the production, going 4-for-5 with a triple, a double, two singles, five RBI and two runs scored.
Pacifica’s runs were all unearned. Caden Hodina started on the mound for the Royals, going five innings with five strikeouts. Darren Orlando pitched the final two innings, striking out three.
The Royals maintained a two-game lead in the league standings at 9-1. Santa Barbara and Buena are tied for second at 7-3. San Marcos plays at Santa Barbara on Tuesday, starting at 3 p.m.
