San Marcos High School junior water polo standout McKenna Stuart will be taking her talents to the global stage.
Stuart, a 16-year-old, was the lone water polo player from the Santa Barbara area to be selected to the USA Women’s Junior National Water Polo Team, which is a 19-and-under squad.
This is just the latest honor for Stuart, who has had a standout year in the pool. After a strong season with the Royals in the winter, she was named the Top Defender at the Futures SuperFinals for SB Water Polo Club.
Team USA and Stuart will compete in the 2026 PanAm Aquatics U19 Water Polo Championships in Bauru, Brazil, beginning next week.
USA will clash with Mexico to start the tournament on Monday, Oct. 28 at 11 a.m. PT before taking on Canada on Tuesday at 12 p.m. PT and Brazil on Wednesday at 3 p.m. PT.
The tournament will run through Oct. 4 and feature some of the top water polo athletes in the world. Games will be livestreamed on https://panamaquaticsplay.com/.
