Two members of the Santa Barbara 805 Water Polo Club are playing for the USA Water Polo Women’s Cadet National Team at the PanAm Aquatics U19 Water Polo Championships in El Salvador.
Charlotte Raisin, a sophomore at San Marcos High, and Mia Fabros, at sophomore at Oaks Christian, were named to the 15-player roster two weeks ago. Raisin played on a USA Water Polo youth national team that won the gold medal at the PanAm Aquatics U17 Championships last year in Brazil.
This past winter, she was honored as the Channel League MVP and was named to the All-CIF-Southern Section team in the Open Division.
Raisin and Fabros will be in action Tuesday as the Team USA opens PanAm play against Chile and Colombia. The team will face Brazil, Mexico, Canada and Argentina over the next four days before the medal rounds on May 26.
