The San Marcos swim team rounded out its season with a strong showing at the CIF Div. 1 State Championships on Friday in Clovis.

“I’m incredibly proud of this group. I think we collectively over-achieved as a program as we had an undefeated swim season,” San Marcos head coach Chuckie Roth said.

“We’re Channel League Champions, Tri-County Champions and had a great showing at both CIF-SS and State. I’ll miss this group of kids for their hard work and ability to make swimming so much fun.”

The 200 medley relay team of Duncan Hunt, Will Stuart, Nolan Clark and Christian Yonker began the weekend by breaking a seven-year-old school record with a time of 1:34.38 to take 24th place.

Individually, Clark took 20th place in both the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke with times of 49.57 and 50.55 seconds, respectively.

In the 200 freestyle relay, Hunt, Stuart, Yonker and Cole Racich broke the school record in the race after taking 31st and finishing in 1:26.63.

Yonker, Stuart, Racich and Clark rounded out the San Marcos boys with a time of 3:08.49 and a 26th-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay.

On the girls side, Sophia Hall, Sophie Yonker, McKenna Stuart and Kalista Hall earned 33rd place in the 200 freestyle relay with their time of 1:39.54.
