San Marcos swim continued to roll through the Channel League dual meet season with a sweep of Buena on Wednesday.

The Royals girls came out on top by a score of 119-50, while the boys team earned a 100-79 win. Both San Marcos squads are undefeated in league action.

“Our team had to push hard today,” San Marcos head coach Chuckie Roth said. “Buena has some talented swimmers on the boys and girls’ sides. I was proud of our athletes for finding a way to swim fast when they were really tired.”

The San Marcos girls were led by double individual event victories by Kalista Hall and Elanor Grube. Hall won the 200 freestyle (2:03.39) and 500 freestyle (5:29.13), while Grube secured first place in the 50 freestyle (24.90) and 100 freestyle (54.60).

Bethany King rounded out the Royals’ standouts with a first-place finish in the 100 breaststroke at 1:16.09.

As for the boys, Nolan Clark was the team’s lone double winner after capturing the 100 butterfly (53.03) and 100 backstroke. Clark is undefeated in dual meet competition in those two races.

Meanwhile, Christian Yonker won the 50 freestyle and William Stuart touched first in the 100 breaststroke.

In the diving competition, Estella Young took first on the girls side with a score of 168.70, while Jake Magid’s score of 145.55 was good for third place for the boys.

San Marcos will be on the road against Rio Mesa next Wednesday for the final league meet of the season.
