The San Marcos boys and girls swim teams each earned victories in a tri-meet with Pacifica and Santa Barbara High on Tuesday.
The Royals’ boys accumulated a team score of 102 to finish ahead of the Dons (57) and the Tritons (11). Meanwhile, the San Marcos girls tallied 92 points while Pacifica had 37 and Santa Barbara ended at 30.
“We had a lot of great swims today and several contributed in various ways,” San Marcos coach Chuckie Roth said. “It is early in the season and we are still figuring out our lineup and areas of strengths and weaknesses.”
For the boys, Will Stuart captured a pair of wins in the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle while Nolan Clark finished first in the 100 butterfly and 200 IM.
Meanwhile, Noah Warkentin won the 100 breaststroke and both Mateo Obando and Jake Magid improved on their times from previous seasons.
As for the girls, Taylor Steelman was a double winner in the 200 IM and 500 freestyle in dominating fashion. Ella Grube and Jade Pattison came out on top in the 100 freestyle and 200 freestyle, respectively.
Charlotte Raisin and Shea Estabrook tallied big time drops as well en route to the win.
The Royals will host Oxnard for a Channel League meet on Thursday at 3 p.m.
