The Royals’ Justin Hess won the boys’ 200 and 400 meter dashes and anchored the 100 and 400 meter relays in a strong performance for San Marcos.
“Justin continues to lead our team,” said San Marcos coach Marilyn Hantgin. “He’s a special talent.
Jaden Freking won the long jump and triple jump for San Marcos.
For the girls, San Marcos’ Ava Carter won the 200 and 400 meter dashes and anchored both winning relay dashes. Kiala Haas one the 800 meter run and was on the 400 meter relay.
For Lompoc, Mallory Branum, Hannah Brooks and Brenda Lerena took the first three positions, in that order, in the girls’ 1600 meter run. Brooks won the 3200 meter run.
Lompoc’s Ruben Gonzales won the boys discus throw for the Braves.
