The San Marcos girls and boys swim teams posted strong performances to sweep Santa Ynez on Thursday. The Royals’ girls won 123 to 38 and the boys 118 to 63.
For the San Marcos girls, Holland Woodhouse won the 200 meter individual medley and 100 backstroke, Malia Yim diving, Keegan Steele the 100 butterfly, Sophia Pannosian the 100 freestyle, Madi Sparre the 500 freestyle, and Dori Larbig the 100 breaststroke.
“We had some great swims and I was really happy with our performance,” said girls’ coach Chuckie Roth.
The San Marcos boys swept five relay events: the 200 freestyle, 100 butterfly, 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle, and 400 freestyle. Jaran Depew and Asher Steelman finished 1-2 in the 100 butterfly with a 54.72 and 55.06, respectively.
