The San Marcos boys beach volleyball club team capped off a stellar season by finishing second in the AAU Interscholastic Beach Volleyball League finals.

In the IBVL final, the an Marcos No. 1 duo of senior Hansen Streeter and junior Jack Wilson lost a three-set battle against Mira Costa’s top team.

Mira Costa knocked out Dos Pueblos in the quarterfinals and Santa Barbara High in the semifinals.

The San Marcos No. 2 team of senior Luke Walker and junior Cliff Ficker won the clinching match in the Royals’ semifinal win against Redondo Union.

In the quarterfinals, the Royals’ No. 3 team of senior Kyle Foley and junior Cameron Earls came from behind to win their match against Crossroads.

“Kyle Foley was a part of our number two paired team most of the season, and easily was our most improved player.” said San Marcos coach Matt Walker. “Cameron Earls played with Nate Loomer, Luke Walker, and Foley and was a steady partner to all three of his teammates.”
