San Marcos began the second round of Channel League play Tuesday with a sweep of Rio Mesa, 25-14, 25-8, 25-12.

Brooke Hoadley and Riley Green led a balanced attack with six kills apiece. Hoadley had zero errors and four aces. Setter Sammi Schaefer had a six-point serving run, along with six assists.

“We were able to get a lot of people in and work on our offense tonight as well as serving,” coach Dwayne Hauschild said.

“Katie Kracke and Mia Miller played well defensively, contributing six and five digs, respectively.”

The Royals are now 7-1 in league play, and host Santa Barbara on Thursday in a battle for first place in Channel League.
