San Marcos overcame a two-run throwing error and a 3-0 deficit in the second inning and beat Paraclete 12-5 in a Southern California Invitatioal baseball game on Thursday at the Goleta Valley South Little League complex.
The Royals erupted for seven runs in the fourth inning to take control of the game.
Carlos Uribe had two RBI and Thomas Kinzler, Emmitt Speake and Joaquin Sandoval drove in one apiece in the fourth.
Henry Manfredonia had a big day, going 3 for 3 with two RBI. Nicky Fell went 2-3 and scored twice, and Sandoval had two RBI.
“The bats came alive today. It was nice to see hits all throughout the lineup,” said coach Jacob Pepper.
Aiden Johnson took the win on the mound. He lasted 4.1 innings, allowing seven hits and four runs while striking out five. Speake threw 1.2 innings in relief.
San Marcos (2-1) returns to play on Saturday against an opponent to be determined for Game 4 of the SCI.
