
San Marcos scored four runs in the first inning and blew the game open with five runs in the sixth en route to a 12-5 Channel League baseball win over Lompoc on Friday.
Steven Bradley and Owen Estabrook had RBI doubles, Emmett Speake drove in a run with a single and the Royals capitalized on a Lompoc error in the first. Brendon Cekada had RBI single in the second.
The sixth-inning explosion was led by Bradley, Estabrook and Speake.
Cole Schoenwetter was the winning pitcher. The junior righthander went four innings, allowing three hits while striking out eight.
Chase Hoover started the game and gave up three runs on five hits over three innings. He struck out six.
Cekada and Speake each collected three hits to lead a 10-hit San Marcos attack. Joaquin Sandoval scored three runs.
