Three San Marcos golfers shot their personal bests to lead the Royals to a season-low score in a 240-276 victory over Ventura on Wednesday at Buenaventura Golf Course.

“We had impressive play by each team member,” said San Marcos coach Sarah Ashton.

Sophomore Fia Torrey shot a 42, six strokes better than her previous best best. She was supported by fellow sophomores Riley O’Brien with a new PR of 44 and Stella Ashamalla with a best score of 46.

“Riley birdied the last hole and putted very well today,” said Ashton.

Freshman Sadi Adams made a par on No. 5 and improved to 55 in her third match.

“I’m so proud of the girls’ focus on the course today and their knowledge of the rules. Looking forward to our next match Tuesday versus DP,” said Ashton.
