Thomas Kinzler homered and Henry Manfredonia reached base four times to help San Marcos beat Valley Academy, 3-1, in the finale of the Southern California Invitational baseball tournament in Granada Hills on Tuesday.
Aidan Mandel pitched 4.1 innings to earn the win. He allowed five hits, no earned runs or walks and struck out four. Aiden Johnson threw the seventh for the save.
Kinzler went 2-for-3 and Manfredonia went 2-2 and walked twice.
The Royals (3-2) host Nipomo for a doubleheader Saturday at Joe Mueller Field.
