Dane Dawson had three hits and drove in a run and Eric Anthony pitched 6.2 innings to lead the Santa Barbara High baseball team to a 3-2 win over Oxnard on Friday at Eddie Mathews Field.

The win moves the Dons into a first-place tie with San Marcos and Buena at 4-1. Oxnard is 1-4.

Anthony allowed two runs on four hits and struck out five. Zeke Adderley faced two batters and got the save.

Dawson gave the Dons a 1-0 lead with a RBI single in the first inning. He drove in Jetner Welch, who led off with a single.

After Oxnard tied the score, Liam Keithley reached on an error in the third inning and scored on a Cal Wipf triple for a 2-1 lead.

Wipf picked up another RBI with a single that drove in Michael Firestone for a 3-1 lead in the sixth. Firestone doubled and made five putouts in center field.

The Dons played errorless defense.

Santa Barbara plays a rain make-up game at Oxnard on Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
