After nearly a decade, the Santa Barbara Blues Society is bringing back Chris Cain and his band to celebrate their 47th Annual Birthday Show, Saturday, March 23 at the Carrillo Recreation Center, 100 E. Carrillo St., Santa Barbara.
Opening the show is Los Angeles-based duo Celso Salim & Darryl Carriere.
Main doors open at 7 p.m.; music starts at 7:15 p.m. Birthday cake will be served at intermission.
Cain offers up Memphis style-electric blues. His deep vocals and jazz-inspired, blues guitar riffs are uniquely his own, while reminiscent of the legendary BB King and Albert King.
A master blues guitarist and vocalist with more than three decades of touring and 14 albums, Cain has garnered multiple Blues Music Award nominations.
Show openers Celso Salim & Darryl Carriere feature a soulful blend of guitar and harmonica sounds. Brazilian born Salim has won five independent music awards, and took third place in the band category at the 2019 International Blues Challenge (IBC). Carriere won the IBC’s Lee Oskar Harmonica Award that same year.
Tickets available for presale at SBBlues.org or for purchase at the door. General admission tickets are $35; VIP tickets are $45; students with ID are $10.
