Santa Barbara breast surgeon Dr. Rosa Choi has joined Cottage Health to launch the Cottage Breast Health Clinic, 2400 Bath St., Ste. 102.
Dr. Choi has more than two decades of experience in the community as a board-certified surgeon providing specialized care for patients with breast cancer, benign breast conditions and other breast health concerns.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to continue caring for patients through Cottage Health and to build a program centered on personalized breast care,” said Dr. Choi.
“It is important for patients to understand their diagnosis, feel informed about their treatment options and have confidence in the decisions they make about their breast health,” she said.
Dr. Choi earned her medical degree from the UCLA School of Medicine and completed her surgical training at Massachusetts General Hospital. She has served on the teaching faculty of the Cottage Health Department of Surgery since 2001 and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Certified in breast ultrasound through the American Society of Breast Surgeons, Dr. Choi also performs ultrasound-guided breast biopsies in the office when appropriate, helping reduce delays in diagnosis and treatment planning, Cottage Health said.
She is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons and the Society of Surgical Oncology.
Cottage Breast Health Clinic patients have access to surgical consultations for breast cancer treatment planning and interpretation of benign breast biopsy results, Cottage Health said
Consultations are available for abnormal physical breast exams and abnormal imaging findings identified through mammograms, ultrasounds or MRIs.
