Six new firefighters will graduate from the city fire academy in a ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 27 at Fire Station 1, 121 W. Carrillo St., the Santa Barbara Fire Department has announced.

The ceremony will honor the dedication, hard work, and exceptional training the firefighters have demonstrated throughout the fire academy.

The graduates have undergone rigorous physical and mental training, preparing them to face the challenges and responsibilities of serving and protecting the community, the city said.

Fire Chief Chris Mailes will preside over the ceremony, commending the graduates for their commitment to public safety and their completion of the academy.

The Fire Department provides comprehensive and state-of-the-art training to ensure firefighters are equipped and trained to handle any emergency with professionalism and efficiency.
