The Santa Barbara Coasters 10U and 11U baseball teams each earned Santa Barbara Labor Day Tournament championships this weekend.
Both teams went undefeated on the weekend and pulled out dramatic wins in the title games.
The 10U squad went 2-0 in pool play on Saturday with a 15-2 win over the Central Coast Venom and an 18-3 victory over the Oxnard Threshers.
Across those two games, Jake Wallman led the offense with four hits and four RBI while Henry Miller tossed three hitless innings and collected seven strikeouts.
In the championship, the Coasters and Venom faced off in a rematch that was much closer than the pool play matchup.
The Coasters’ Brayden Montgomery tossed a gem, striking out 11 and allowing one hit in five innings of work to lead his team to a 2-0 championship win.
