Santa Barbara County is among 11 jurisdictions included in an Amber Alert issued for a missing 14-year-old girl allegedly impregnated by her father with both being sought after the discovery of a deceased newborn weeks ago.

Diana Galvez Ortega, 14, was last seen near Constitution Boulevard and East Laurel Drive in Salinas in Monterey County on Aug. 4, authorities said.

She is believed to be with her father, Sergio Galvez Perez, 38, and they may be connected to a white Nissan Altima.

Monterey County Sheriff’s Office representatives said on social media that detectives had located video surveillance showing Sergio Galvez Perez and the 14-year-old in the Salinas area in a white Nissan Altima with no license plates.

“This newly discovered information provided investigators with vehicle information that was not previously available and confirmed that Sergio and Diana were together at that time,” Monterey County officials said.

“We understand there have been questions about why an Amber Alert was not previously requested. Until this video was located, investigators did not have information identifying a vehicle in which Diana may have been traveling and were also unable to confirm with certainty that Diana and Sergio were traveling together.”

The girl is 4 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 100 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes.

He is 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 170 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

Authorities could not provide a description of what clothes the girl or the adult may be wearing.

Along with Santa Barbara County, the Amber Alert encompasses Monterey, San Luis Obispo, Ventura, Kern, Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Riverside, San Diego, Orange and Imperial counties, according to the California Highway Patrol alert.

The pair reportedly are connected to the newborn girl found dead Aug. 1 along Struve Road in north Monterey County. Authorities referred to the infant as Baby Angelita, Spanish for Baby Angel.

Monterey County officials said they have confirmed Galvez Perez is the biological father of both the 14-year-old girl and the newborn baby.

An examination of the baby girl’s body indicated she had signs of traumatic injury, Monterey County officials said.

Sergio Galvez Perez is wanted on numerous felony violations including incest, unlawful sexual intercourse and other charges related to inappropriate sexual contact.

Anyone who sees Sergio Galvez Perez or his 14-year-old daughter should call 9-1-1, authorities said. Do not approach or attempt to confront him, authorities added.

Callers should be prepared to provide the location, descriptions of the girl and suspect, and make, model, color, and license plate number (if possible) of any vehicle involved to help law enforcement officers located the pair.
