A trio of local high school baseball squads will begin their CIF-SS postseason runs this week after successful regular seasons.

The Santa Barbara High Dons, Dos Pueblos Chargers and Cate Rams will represent the Santa Barbara area in their quests for a CIF title. Here are their opening-round matchups.

Santa Barbara High (Division 3)

The Dons secured back-to-back league titles this year after going 19-7-1 in the regular season and winning the co-Channel League championship alongside Ventura.

Santa Barbara High will begin the playoffs on the road against Crescenta Valley, which is 21-7 and tied for second place in the Pacific League, on Thursday at 3:15 p.m.

Dos Pueblos (Division 4)

The Chargers had a strong regular season of their own, placing fourth in the Channel League with an overall record of 18-10.

Dos Pueblos will head down to Anaheim to take on Katella High in the first round on Friday at 3:15 p.m. Katella put together a 20-6 record and finished second in the Golden West League.

Cate (Division 8)

The Rams rounded out the local teams in the postseason after going 11-4 and capturing the Frontier League championship.

Cate will roll out the welcome mats for Azusa for the CIF-SS Div. 8 playoff opener on Friday at 3:15 p.m. Azusa slotted into second in the Mountview League with a record of 9-11.
