Santa Barbara High suffered its first Channel League baseball loss, falling at Rio Mesa, 3-2, on Thursday.
Liam Keithley started on the mound and went six innings, allowing three runs on five hits, striking out five and walking one.
“Once again, Liam pitched well enough to get the win,” said coach Steve Schuck. “The defense let him down with three unearned runs in the first. He went on to pitch five innings of one hit ball.”
Dane Dawson went 2 for 3 to lead the Dons’ offense.
Santa Barbara is 3-1 in league and 5-5 overall.
