The Santa Barbara Foresters suffered their second straight defeat in the form of an 8-6 loss to the San Diego Waves on Friday at Eddie Mathews Field.

It was a back-and-forth affair throughout, with the two sides exchanging two-run innings early to leave the game tied at 4-4 after five innings.

After a scoreless sixth, the Waves plated one run in the seventh and three runs in the eighth to pull away for an 8-4 advantage.

The Foresters chipped away with one run in both the eighth and ninth innings, but the scoring ended there and the Waves escaped with the road win.

Joseph Sandusky (Texas A&M) and Kurt Ippolito (Central Christian) paced the Santa Barbara offensive effort with two hits and one RBI apiece.

The Foresters (15-3) will look to snap their longest losing streak of the season on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. against the Menlo Park Legends at Eddie Mathews Field.
