The Santa Barbara Foresters are rolling as they continue to tune up for next week’s NBC World Series.
The Foresters (22-9) followed up a 10-3 win on Thursday with a 12-0 rout of the Menlo Park Legends on Friday at Eddie Mathews Field.
After Nic Abraham hurled six dominant innings while allowing just three hits, Tag Andrews and Andrew Guardino put together scoreless outings of their own to finish off the shutout.
Santa Barbara came out of the gate on fire, scoring two runs in the first inning and four more in the second to race out to a 6-0 lead.
In the first, Terrence Kiel roped an RBI double and Brenton Clark followed with an RBI to score Mic Paul.
The bats stayed hot as Nate Castellon, Xavier Esquer and Kiel all blasted doubles to keep the rally going and extend the lead out to six runs.
The Forester advantage grew to 7-0 in the second when Caleb Hoover hit his first home run of the summer. They continued to flex their muscles with four runs in the fourth and one in the fifth to round out the scoring and make it 12-0.
Kiel had a monster day at the plate, going 4-for-4 with five RBI, while Esquer put together a 3-for-4 performance with two RBI and four runs scored.
Hoover and Nate Castellon each went 2-for-4 with one RBI and two runs scored apiece.
The Foresters and Legends will clash again at Eddie Mathews Field on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
