The Santa Barbara Gay Men’s Chorus (SBGMC) will present a Pride Cabaret, a one-night-only event, 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21 at the New Vic Theatre, 33 W. Victoria St., Santa Barbara.
Presented as part of the city’s Pride Week festivities, the Pride Cabaret, planned to be an annual event, showcases LGBTQ+ artistry, community and resilience.
The show is performed in an intimate cabaret-style format, and features solo and small ensemble performances, weaving together Broadway tunes, pop songs, and moving classics.
The songs and stories reflect the diverse lived experiences of LGBTQ+ individuals.
“This performance is a great way to showcase our members on a more individual level,” says Timothy Accurso, SBGMC, artistic director.
“The Pride Cabaret offers members a chance to express pride on their terms, since the performers have selected their own songs and stories to share,” Accurso said.
Doors open at 7 p.m. and all are welcome — friends, family, allies, and community members of all ages and identities.
Tickets are available through the New Vic Theatre box office and online at https://etcsb.org/whats-on/community-events/.
As part of its broader mission, the Santa Barbara Gay Men’s Chorus seeks to uplift LGBTQ+ voices and foster inclusivity through the power of music.
“The 2025 Pride Cabaret stands as a proud contribution to Santa Barbara’s rich cultural scene and an extension of our mission to celebrate diversity and pride through music,” organizers said.
