Santa Barbara High girls water polo took home fifth place in the Channel League tournament with a pair of wins over Rio Mesa and Oxnard on Wednesday in Ventura.

The Dons, now 16-14, will await their CIF-SS playoff draw on Friday at 2 p.m.

Santa Barbara High began the day with a low-scoring 9-3 win over Rio Mesa where Juliana Horton led the way with four goals and three exclusions earned.

Meanwhile, Rose Nelley piled up two goals, two assists and five steals in the win. Yesenia Dunn scored twice and Nala Rosen found the back of the net once.

The Dons followed that up with a 13-1 rout of Oxnard in which Hope Smith scored a team-high three goals.

Horton, Dunn and Naleah La Riba-Kveta scored two goals apiece while Kana Wolfe and Kyla La Riba-Kveta rounded out the scoring.
