Santa Barbara High baseball had its season come to an end with a heartbreaking 4-3 loss to Crescenta Valley in the CIF-SS Division 3 playoff opener on Thursday in La Crescenta.
After the Dons went into the bottom of the seventh with a 3-1 lead, the Falcons tied the game up on an error and an RBI single down the right field line.
Crescenta Valley then loaded the bases to set up a walk-off hit-by-pitch to take the playoff victory.
All of the Santa Barbara High runs came in the top of the second on a three-run single off the bat of Kai Mault.
Eric Anthony got the start for the Dons, allowing one run on five hits while striking out four in five innings of work.
Crescenta Valley will continue its postseason run against Castaic on Tuesday at 3:15 p.m.
