Santa Barbara High boys lacrosse pulled out a 9-8 win over Mullen High in double overtime on Thursday at Peabody Stadium.
The Dons jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first quarter thanks to two goals from Jasper Larrson and one from Lincoln Lynn, but Mullen answered with a pair of goals to bring it to 3-2 heading into the second.
After the teams traded goals in the second, Mullen came out with three unanswered goals to begin the third quarter and take the lead.
Santa Barbara’s Connor Jackson then scored off an assist from Jackson Shapiro to cut the deficit to 6-5 with one quarter left in regulation.
Mullen opened the fourth with two goals to go up 8-5, but the Dons then rattled off three straight goals from Shapiro, Flynn Chenoweth and Caden Chessmar to tie it up and send it into overtime.
In the second overtime period, Chessmar dished it to Jackson, who finished off the score to give Santa Barbara High the non-league victory.
The Dons (3-4) will host Valencia High on Friday at 6 p.m.
