Dos Pueblos baseball won its second straight game to begin the Easton Tournament with a 6-4 victory over Santa Paula on Friday at Scott O’Leary Field in Goleta.

Max Cruse got the start for the Chargers, tossing three innings and striking out two batters. Meanwhile, Mattias Di Maggio earned the save after striking out three in the final 1 ⅓ innings of work.

Di Maggio was a force at the plate as well, reaching base four times with a double, two walks and a hit by pitch. He scored a pair of runs and stole two bases.

Marcus Carbajal, Taylor Young and Nick Salcido all contributed on the offensive end by driving in runs.

Dos Pueblos (2-0) will be on the road against Chaminade on Saturday.

St. Francis 6, Santa Barbara 1

The Dons dropped their season opener to St. Francis on Friday afternoon at Eddie Mathews Field.

Jack Paskin turned in a strong start for the Dons, tossing four innings and allowing one run on four hits.

Max Weddle, Jetner Welch, James King, Emiliano Ramirez and Paskin each tallied a hit for Santa Barbara.

The Dons will remain at home to host Hueneme on Saturday at 11 a.m.
