Santa Barbara High girls water polo kicked off its season with a 13-6 victory over Thousand Oaks High on Wednesday.

Juliana Horton got her high school career off to a blazing start for the Dons, piling on eight goals and five exclusions earned in the win.

Meanwhile, Rose Nelley and Yesenia Dunn each scored two goals and Nala Rosen chipped in a goal and an assist.

In the cage, Santa Barbara High’s Audrey Skultety ended the day with seven saves.

“I am really proud of the team’s effort in the first game of the season,” Dons coach Mark Walsh said. “We graduated eight of 10 Varsity players from last year and have an entirely new team this year.”
