Santa Barbara High softball routed Santa Ynez by a score of 28-3 in five innings on the road on Thursday.

Freshman Laila Hernandez paced the offensive attack by going 5-for-5 with five RBIs and four runs scored. Ava Karman also recorded a five-hit game, scoring five times and driving in three runs.

From the leadoff spot, Olivia Ressler hit a triple and a double while also scoring four runs and stealing four bases.

In the circle, Madison Benedict tossed all five innings, allowing four hits while striking out nine. Benedict also tallied four hits, three RBIs and three runs scored in the win.

The Dons did not commit any errors on defense.

Earlier in the week, Santa Barbara High played Santa Ynez again and came out on top 20-1, collecting 14 hits and 23 stolen bases.
