Corona del Mar’s offense couldn’t be stopped in the Santa Barbara Invitational boys water polo tournament.
The Sea Kings poured in 74 goals in four games, capping their weekend with a 19-12 victory over Bellarmine Prep of San Jose for the championship on Saturday at Santa Barbara High’s pool.
Corona del Mar was held to its lowest goal total in the semifinals, but still outscored Mater Dei, 13-10. Bellarmine Prep reached the final by beating Huntington Beach in overtime, 9-8.
The local teams went 1-5 on the final day, with Dos Pueblos picking up the lone win, beating Redlands East Valley in the 15th-place game, 9-3. The Chargers lost earlier in the day to Mira Costa, 11-5.
Jaden Moore scored three goals in both games.
Four freshmen, Adam Gelman, Cole Ranch, Lucas Neushul and Grant Nelson each scored a goal in the win over REV. Goalie Reggie Robles held the opponent to three goals and made nine saves. He also had nine blocks against Mira Costa.
San Marcos fell to Westlake (13-5) and Alta Loma (12-7) to finish 12th in the tournament.
Santa Barbara lost against San Luis Obispo (14-5) and Crean Luthern (13-5) in the tournament’s round-robin competition.
Mater Dei beat Huntington Beach (15-11) in the third-place game and St. Francis of Mountain View edged Laguna Beach (12-11) for fifth place.
