Santa Barbara County is blessed with a diversity of vital nonprofit organizations dedicated to improving the health, well-being, growth, civic leadership and compassion of our community.
Charitable giving and philanthropy are part of our identity, which is why Noozhawk is proud to support the nonprofit community through sponsoring local community organizations and events.
To showcase our support of the event, Heart of New House Luncheon, Noozhawk spoke with Adam Burridge, Executive Director of Santa Barbara New House to learn more about their event.
Santa Barbara New House
Question: What is the name and date of your event?
Answer: 9th Annual Heart of New House Luncheon September 13, 2025.
Q: What is the mission, goal, and/or theme of this occasion?
A: The Heart of New House is our annual luncheon. This fundraiser helps provide scholarships to low-income men who cannot afford their initial client fees. In 2024, we provided $126,000 in scholarships. New House is not just a sober living facility; it’s a beacon of hope in our community.
We offer a clean, sober, healthy environment, a mission that requires extraordinary effort under current conditions. Our goal is to support the men who come to New House in their pursuit of sobriety and help Santa Barbara find safety in their absence from the problem. Your support is crucial in helping us continue this vital work.
Q: Have you held this event before?
A: Yes, this is our 9th Heart of New Luncheon.
Q: Tell us some more details about your celebration?
A: This cherished event embodies the spirit of Gordon Guy’s vision, honoring our New House Heroes who have made a profound impact on our community. As we gather for our 9th Annual Luncheon, we are excited to celebrate Alex Vandenbelt and Demetrio Espinosa as this year’s Heroes of New House.
Additionally, we will proudly present the 9th Annual Heart of New House Award to David Vartabedian, recognizing his remarkable contributions to New House and our community. This gathering not only celebrates individual achievements but also reinforces our mission to support and empower those in recovery. We invite you to join us in this heartfelt celebration, as every presence makes a difference in our community.
Q: How do people get involved with your event? (volunteer, attend, etc.) – If your event includes ticket sales, please note the price and include a link to purchase tickets.
A: Tickets are $120.00. Tickets can be purchased through our website at www.sbnewhouse.org.
Q: Is this a fundraising affair? If so, how will the funds raised help your organization?
A: This fundraiser helps provide scholarships to low-income men who cannot afford their initial client fees. In 2024, we provided $126,000 in scholarships. We are the only Men’s Sober Living Home in the Tri-County area that offers scholarships without a re-payment obligation. All we ask is that a potential client follow the program rules and be willing to seek gainful employment. Scholarships are determined individually, and as all clients are unique, so are their circumstances.
