Power has been restored for Santa barbara residents that were impacted by reported power outages throughout Santa Barbara Wednesday morning including Oak Park, downtown and upper Eastside neighborhoods.

The outage reportedly started just before 10:30 a.m., impacting 4,900 customers, but power has been restored to all but four customers as of 4:30 p.m., according to the Southern California Edison outage page.

Some customers reportedly had their power restored by 1:30 p.m. but several hundred customers were still affected in portions of downtown Santa Barbara and upper State Street, according to Diane Castro, spokeswoman for Southern California Edison.

The cause of the outage is under investigation.

KEYT’s John Palminteri reported that the outage was near Mission and Bath Streets, with street lights out and alarms ringing out from several businesses.
