Raissa Smorol and Anna Alldredge have been appointed co-presidents of the Santa Barbara Public Library Foundation Board of Directors for 2025-26. Other board officers are Anne Howard, vice president; Peter Ginsberg , secretary; and Brooke McDermott, treasurer.
A retired Episcopal priest and longtime library champion, Howard is returning to the board. She previously served as Foundation Board president, 2017-22, during the Library Plaza Campaign.
Honored as the 2024 Library Champion, Howard brings decades of community leadership, passion for literacy, and a lifelong love of libraries, sparked in the children’s room of a Carnegie Library in her hometown of Red Wing, Minnesota.
Santa Barbara Public Library Foundation honored the contributions of three outgoing board members:
● Susan Case, a long-serving member whose insight and dedication shaped fundraising strategy and deepened community engagement.
● Alan Brumberger, whose financial acumen and steady leadership helped guide the foundation’s growth.
● Irene Kelly, an advocate for equity and access, who helped inform the foundation’s strategic priorities.
“Each of our board members plays a critical role in ensuring that our public libraries remain vibrant, equitable, and well-resourced,” said Lauren Trujillo, executive director.
“We are inspired by their vision and thankful for their partnership as we move into another exciting year of impact,” she said.
