The Santa Barbara Royals ice hockey team secured a 6-2 victory over the El Segundo Strikers on Saturday at Ice in Paradise.
The Royals are now 3-0 on the season as they look to repeat as LA Kings High School Hockey League champions.
Santa Barbara dominated the first two periods, keeping the Strikers off the board and scoring three goals to take a 3-0 lead into the third. Primo Steavu scored twice and Caden Walsh added a goal to build the lead.
Charlie Lovette kept it going for the Royals with a goal to make it 4-0 before El Segundo finally found the back of the net with 12 minutes left to play.
Santa Barbara responded with back-to-back goals by Colton Mobley and AJ Sweet, and the Strikers rounded out the game’s scoring with a late goal to make it a 6-2 Royal win.
