Santa Barbara will welcome some of the top high school basketball talent in the nation this weekend for the Battle by the Beach Tournament.
The 46-team tournament will feature elite prep schools from across the country and serve as preseason action for high school basketball teams. Games will be played from Friday, Oct. 17 to Sunday, Oct. 19 at Santa Barbara High, San Marcos, Dos Pueblos and Page Youth Center.
Santa Barbara High, Dos Pueblos and San Marcos will be the local teams competing ahead of their regular seasons beginning in November.
Utah Prep, PHP Prep and SoCal Prep will also be in the field and figure to be some of the top teams in the country heading into the 2025-26 season.
Meanwhile, Crossroads boasts two of the top 10 players in California and La Mirada’s Gene Roebuck is a five-star recruit and top 15 player in the country.
Other standout players who will be in town this weekend are Shalen Sheppard (5-star, Brentwood High), Mekhi Robertson (4-star, SoCal Academy), Julius Price (4-star, St. Joseph), Anthony Felesi (4-star, Utah Prep) and Trevon Carter-Given (4-star, SoCal Academy).
