Santa Barbara set a high-temperature record for the date on Tuesday, barely edging the previous mark set five years ago.

The thermometer hit 82 degrees at the Santa Barbara Airport, the official reporting station for the city.

The previous record for Feb. 25 of 80 degrees was set in 2020, according to the National Weather Service.

The average high for Santa Barbara on Feb. 25 is 62 degrees.

Unseasonably warm days are expected to continue Wednesday and Thursday, with highs of 75 and 76, respectively.

But daytime highs should drop to the low-60s on Friday, when there is a 20% of rain after 10 a.m.

Saturday should be sunny, highs in the mid-60s, before another chance of rain Sunday into early next week, with more possible late in the week.

North winds of 10-15 mph are in the forecast overnight Tuesday into Wednesday, with gusts to 30 mph.
