Santa Barbara High’s aggressive running game put pressure on South Pasadena, and the Dons used that to their advantage in an 8-4 victory on the road in a CIF-SS Division 4 first-round baseball playoff game on Friday.
The Dons stole 10 bases, with Kai Mault swiping four.
Santa Barbara chased South Pasadena starter Nolan Adams in third inning. The Dons scored seven runs on eight hits against him in 2.3 innings
Dane Dawson led the offense with three hits, leading four players with multiple hits.
Eric Anthony went six innings for the Dons, allowing three runs on eight hits. He struck out three.
Santa Barbara (14-13) advances to a second-round game against Brea-Olinda (14-12) on Tuesday at Eddie Mathews Field.
