In a major shakeup, five employees with Radius Commercial Real Estate have jumped ship and started a local version of Colliers, a global real estate firm.
Austin Herlihy, Chris Parker, Mike Lopus, Mike Chung and Miles Waters explain their move and what it means to commercial and residential real estate on the South Coast, in the latest episode of Santa Barbara Talks with Josh Molina
The five also offer a snapshot of the local real estate scene, including the question that is on everyone’s mind: Should State Street reopen to cars?
“The first thing I think they need to do is open State Street,” Herlihy said. “I think the fact that people can’t drive down the street anymore, people have become out of touch with what is going on. They don’t even know what stores are on State Street anymore.”
Herlihy said it is “kind of chaotic” with all the electric bicycles.
In this episode, Molina also talks to the brokers about:
- The Funk Zone
- La Cumbre Plaza
- Goleta’s Camino Real Marketplace
- State Street
- What Colliers brings to Santa Barbara
