Rev. David Moore said there was an “enthusiasm deficit” behind the Kamala Harris presidential campaign, which ultimately hurt her and Democrats at the polls.
“It has to do with credibility,” Moore said. “We just don’t believe anybody anymore.”
Moore is a pastor, theologian, and human rights advocate in Santa Barbara. He regularly speaks at rallies and community events and has spoken out publicly about social justice causes and the war in Gaza.
Moore, in the latest episode of Santa Barbara Talks with Josh Molina, shares his views on Rep. Bernie Sanders, the independent from Vermont, and his scathing letter claiming Democrats turned their backs on working people. Click on the link below to hear the podcast.
Moore said that Harris was the “lesser of two evils” in the presidential campaign, but he was never enthusiastic about Harris.
“I did not want Donald Trump to be president because of what he has already done to women’s rights, with what he has done with the Supreme Court picks, and it is very likely he’ll get more Supreme Court picks,” Moore said.
Moore comments on:
- The war in Gaza and how it affected Harris
- Credibility among the political parties
- Rent control/stabilization in Santa Barbara
- The District 1 City Council contest between Wendy Santamaria and Alejandra Gutierrez
- Affordable housing
- His background, including time in South Africa
- How he came to Santa Barbara and moved from evangelical churches to social justice ministry
