For Dydahl and Flanagin, “Both boys understood the situation and did exactly what they needed to,” Santa Barbara head coach Olivia Perdices said. “State Meet has been a huge goal all season for these guys and I’m so happy for them to be there.

“At the same time, they’re both great competitors and are going in with something to prove. I can’t wait to see how it plays out.”

Cate coach Tim Weir said Sutch “has worked extremely hard all spring and it’s great to see his times continue to drop.

“It was great to see him rise to the occasion today against such great competition. We are excited for next weekend.”
