Santa Barbara High football’s Everett Rabb-Preston and San Marcos flag football’s Piper Kittle powered their teams to big league wins en route to Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table Athlete of the Week honors.

The football pairing was honored at Monday’s SBART Press Luncheon at Harry’s Plaza Cafe.
Rabb-Preston and the Dons’ offensive line were the centerpiece of the team’s offensive success in last week’s 37-0 Channel League rout of Rio Mesa.
The running back took 18 carries for 137 yards and a touchdown, and added four catches for 66 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Kittle was the go-to receiver and a standout on defense in a pair of wins over Ventura High to help the Royals secure an automatic berth into the CIF-SS playoffs.
She totaled 23 catches for 191 yards and two touchdowns across the two games, and added 10 flag pulls, a pass breakup and an interception on the defensive end.
The boys honorable mentions were Chase Johnson (DP Football), Hayden Feleay (SM Football), Isaac Murillo (SM Football), Grant Nelson (DP Water Polo), Channing Wigo (DP Water Polo) and Brandon Lee (SM Water Polo).
The girls honorable mentions were Mia Rocha (SM Golf), Ivy Huang (Cate Tennis), Zella Cassidy (DP Tennis), Victoria Aldana (SM Flag Football), Ruby Streatfeild (DP Flag Football) and Kindah Ahamd-Reda (DP Flag Football).
The Athlete of the Week award winners are selected by the local sports media. Coaches are encouraged to nominate deserving athletes. Nominations should be sent to sports@noozhawk.com by Saturday afternoon, if possible.
The award is sponsored by Cottage Health, Knight Real Estate Group, Investec Real Estate and Fidelity National Title.
