The city of Santa Maria is delaying the start of its upgraded billing system, which is designed to improve customer service for water, sewer and refuse.

The go-live date is now expected in mid-September or later, according to the city’s utility billing division.

The new software SpryPoint will help manage utility accounts for some 20,000 customers, the city said.

“The utility billing division is diligently working with its partners at SpryPoint to establish a new go-live date and will provide updates on the city’s website as soon as an updated plan is confirmed,” the city said.

Customers with questions can call the utility billing division, 805-925-0951 ext. 2217 for English, 2218 for Spanish.
