A Santa Maria man has been arrested in connection with an Oct. 14 Halloween party shooting that injured three people.
Officers were dispatched just before 1 a.m. to the 1300 block of Yale Place in response to a shooting that had just occurred at a residence in the area.
One adult male was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, Lt. Daniel Rios said Friday.
Two other victims, one adult male and one adult female who were at party, later sought treatment for less serious injuries related to the shooting, Rios added.
During their investigation, detectives identified a man suspected of committing the shooting.
At approximately 4 a.m. Friday, Santa Maria police detectives and the SWAT Team conducted a search and arrest warrant operation in the 100 block of West Park Street.
They arrested Oscar Erik Jimenez Ruiz, 27, of Santa Maria.
He was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail for suspicion of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon. Jimenez Ruiz is being held on $5 million bail, police said.
Investigators believe more witnesses still need to be interviewed related to this incident.
