The Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department and PLAY, Inc., invite the community to cheer on local public safety employees at the Annual Battle of the Badges softball tournament.
This free, family event will be Saturday, Nov. 8 at Hagerman Sports Complex, 3300 Skyway Drive.
The tournament brings together teams representing local law enforcement, fire, nursing, military, and emergency first responders as they take the field in a benefit for PLAY, Inc., which supports recreational and leisure programs throughout the community.
Team registration is available online at www.active.com through 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4. Team registration fee is $250, plus $15 cash per came for umpire services.
A 50/50 raffle fundraiser will also be held during the tournament. In a 50/50 raffle, participants can buy tickets for a chance to win half of the total amount raised. The other half of the proceeds will benefit PLAY, Inc., helping to fund and expand recreational opportunities throughout the community.
