The Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department invites community members to help shape the next public art installation at Taylor Park.

Everyone is invited to take part in creating the mural by voting for their favorite design at www.cityofsantamaria.org/recreation or at the direct public art mural link.

The poll will be open through Friday, Oct. 24.

Once the community’s choice has been selected, Santa Maria city residents of all ages are invited to join the Recreation and Parks Department for a hands-on mural painting event, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, at Taylor Park, at north end of North Miller Street.

Attendees can help paint the winning mural design and observe the progress throughout the day. Participants are encouraged to bring family and friends for the collaborative experience.

“This public art project aligns with the city’s Smart City, Safe City vision, enhancing public spaces, fostering creativity, and strengthening community connection through accessible art opportunities,” the city said.
